School Curriculum

Heath House takes note of the spirit and content of the National Curriculum, combines these within its own work programme and derives inspiration and breadth from the resources of London. The subjects the children study at Heath House are many and diverse. 

Heath House is a preparatory school by nature and therefore prepares its pupils for the  11+ entry to Secondary Schools. It has an excellent academic record of leading independent and grammar secondary schools.

The subjects children take from age 3 (Kindergarten) are as follows

In addition to the above, children in Prep Years 3 to 6 take Spanish, Classical Studies, Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning.

Year 6 also have an introduction to Ancient Greek included in their Summer Term timetable.

Junior Maths Challenge

Pupils at Heath House have the opportunity to compete in the Junior Maths Challenge, a 60 minute, 25 multiple choice Challenge, aimed at pupils in Year 8 and below. Starting with the Junior Maths Challenge, with the Kangaroo and Olympiad as follow-on rounds, these are designed to challenge and engage the pupils.

Results

Of the 26 children that took part in the 2024 Challenge we had the following results:

Of the children that gained the Gold Award, 2 children were invited to complete a further challenge known as the Junior Kangaroo Challenge.

Of the 31 children that took part in the 2023 Challenge we had the following results:

Of the children that gained the Gold Award, 3 children were invited to complete the Junior Kangaroo Challenge.
