At Heath House, our kindergarten school is where children begin their learning journey with confidence, curiosity and a genuine love of school. Welcoming children from age 3 into our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), we provide a warm, structured and engaging start that balances play, exploration and early academic foundations. Kindergarten and Reception form our EYFS, based in Tranquil Hall, where children feel safe, known and encouraged to try new things every day.
Our approach is personal: children benefit from individual attention and thoughtfully planned activities that support early communication, independence and positive friendships—while gently introducing the skills they’ll need for a smooth transition into Reception and beyond.
Language & confidence through conversation, storytelling and sharing
Independence through routines, responsibility and self-care skills
Friendships & social skills through cooperative play and kindness
Early writing readiness through mark-making and fine-motor development
Early number sense through hands-on, practical Maths
As a private kindergarten school, Heath House follows the EYFS framework for children aged 3 to 5 (Kindergarten & Reception), delivered in a nurturing environment at Tranquil Hall. Our EYFS curriculum places a strong focus on Literacy and Maths, while also supporting the wider areas that build confident, well-rounded learners. Learning in Kindergarten is hands-on and meaningful. Children build early reading and writing readiness through stories, talk, role play and mark-making, while number skills develop through practical activities that help children understand quantity, patterns and problem-solving. Every child’s progress is carefully supported so they feel proud of what they can do—and excited about what comes next.
In our london kindergarten school, children enjoy a rich and varied curriculum from the very start. From age 3, pupils are introduced to a broad range of subjects, taught in age-appropriate and engaging ways: English, Maths, French, Science, Geography, History, R.E, Computing, Music, Drama, Art & Design, Mandarin, Physical Education, and PSHE & RHE.
This breadth matters because it gives children language, ideas and experiences to talk about, explore and create. Alongside classroom learning, Heath House draws inspiration and depth from the resources of London, helping children connect their learning to the world around them.
